The Meeting+ Some art

RAWR!

I've got many loverly new pieces for you. Since being presented at the Manga Club meeting the other day, I have a feeling we're going to get plenty of publicity now. Now, if you're looking for the music tutorial, it's in the post below. Have a look if you like, but for now, humor me a moment so I can talk about the meeting on Wednesday.

Wednesday's Manga Club meeting was anything but boring. After Haley of Anime Freeker gave a demo of how to change one's blog template (using my blog, actually. Isn't it spiffy?) I was asked to give a presentation of how one puts music on one's blog, the tutorial to which is on my blog now. I also was asked a few questions about the Guild! Yay! Hopefully I'll have new art on the way soon. As an added bonus, while I was explaining the rules of what you can post, I got a few laughs out of the otakus in the corner when I used the word "hentai" to describe what you can't post. Hahaha. Pervs. Then today, we watched Ghost Hunt, which was funny, but nothing special. Claymore was better.

Okay, artsy time! Enjoy!

This is a very stylize pen-and-ink sketch of the main ad picture for an anime series called Black Blood Brothers done by Andrew M. He changed the character's hair and hat and gave him facial hair. It's different, but cool in its own respects. VERY different from the cutesy stuff we've seen so far, yeah? Also, hooray for another new artist joining the fold! Hopefully Haley will join us as well soon...

This is a drawing by Rita H. It appears to depict Tohru Honda from the series Fruits Basket a.k.a "Furuba". Tohru's the main character for those of you who don't know. This is a pretty simple pencil sketch, but it has a delicate look to it.

Now I shall introduce you to Celery. He's a simply ADORABLE kitty-cat drawn by Rita H. Rita claims this was nothing but a fluke, but she's got talent. The thick lines and simplistic form give it a very childish, "chibi" look. The lines, I also noticed, are accented, which makes it look more freeform and loose.

Now you shall have to humor another of my drawings. I was only going to put up the artwork of others on this post, but it was requested that I post this as well because I actually had patience enough to do *drumroll please* A BACKGROUND! Whoot. And it's got one-point perspective. Amazing! I can't believe I actually sat still long enough to do all this. I so lazy sometimes.
Aaaaaaaaaanyway, that's all for today! Hope you enjoyed the artwork! Please leave comments!
If you have art you'd like to submit, please come and talk to me. You can also probably ask Ashley L., Haley C., or Kasey S. to deliver things to me. I can be found in the Library A Lunch and in the cafeteria B Lunch. Also, during fourth block on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, I have no class, so I'm typically in the library.
By the way, HAPPY HOLIDAYS, EVERYONE!

Okay, those of you who were at the meeting the other day are aware that I was asked to put a step-by-step tutorial of how to put music on one's blog via Project Playlist on my page. So, now I shall do so.

~First, you will need to go to http://www.playlist.com and set up an account. The option to do so will be at the top right-hand corner of the page. It'll say "SIGN UP!". The site will walk you through the creation of the account.

~Next, type the names of the songs you want in the searchbar. The site will search for you and give you two buttons next to each result: a play symbol and a plus sign. The play symbol will allow you to preview the song, which I HIGHLY recommend you do. Some of the songs are corrupt files, low quality, or the wrong song altogether. Then, when you're sure you want it, press the plus sign. That'll add the song to your new playlist.

~When you're done getting songs, click "My Account" at the top of the page.

~On that page, scroll down until you see "My Playlists". Underneath your playlist names, it'll give you several options. Click the middle one, which is "post".

~When you click that, it'll give you options A through E of which type of code you want. The first four are for specific sites, so there's no use in that. Click option E.

~It'll ask you which of your playlists you want to post. If you put more than one playlist on a single account, this is important. Click on the playlist name.

~Here the site gives you a nice sample. Configure your options on this page. You can choose to Autostart, which means the playlist automatically starts playing from the beginning as soon as someone opens your page. You can also make it shuffle randomly, if you like. Then, pick your color. Make it pretty.

~Click "get code!"

~On this page, you will find your code. Cut or Copy this code.

~Now open up Blogger and go to layout. Add a gadget. The gadget you will pick is "HTML/JavaScript". In the big open space, paste the code that Playlist gave you. Save that, and it'll appear on the blog with your other gadgets.

~Congratulations! Your blog plays music! Remember, Manga Club members, this is a school function, so make sure your lyrics in your songs are school appropriate.

MUZIX YAY!

As you may have noticed, I made a little update to my gadgets. I picked out some anime music, because what's an art gallery without tunes? These are the themes of various anime's. I've decided to provide a tracklist.
~"D-technoLife" by UVERworld (Bleach)
~"Blaze", I don't know the artist (Tsubasa: Resovoir Chronicles)
~"Haruka Kanata" by Asian Kung-Fu Generation (Naruto)
~"Parade" by Chaba (Naruto)
~"Ichirin no Hana" by HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR (Bleach )
~"Sakura Kiss", artist unknown (Ouran High School Host Club)
~"The World" by Nightmare (Death Note)
~"Ready, Steady, GO!" by L'Arc en~Ciel (Fullmetal Alchemist)
~"Caramelldansen" by Caramell (the theme song of all anime fans everywhere)
~"UNDO" by Cool Joke (Fullmetal Alchemist)
~"Alumina" by Nightmare (Death Note)
~"Whats up people" by Maximum the Horomone (Death Note)
If you know of any others you'd like on this page, comment and tell me their names, artists if possible, and what anime they're from. And please, no theme from Pokemon or that terrible 4Kids dub of One Piece. Let's keep it classy, folks.

Random Stream of Consciousness

Hiya, guys. This is kind of just me having ideas. I have some free time right now, so I'm just spewing thoughts, here. Humor my creative burst, willya?

At some point, I'd like to start doing contests. I see them all the time on deviantArt. I pick a theme, you guys draw stuff, and everyone else votes. Unfortutately, right now we don't have enough participation to do anything like that. Eventually, though.

I'd also like you guys to draw some Holiday greetings to our beloved viewers. Anyone who does gets a cookie. I'm totally serious. I will literally bring cookies. I'd bake, but I suck, so that's not a good idea. You can request what kind of cookie you'd like, and I'll go down the street from my house to Subway and buy 'em. Draw holiday stuff. Happy Chrismahannukwanza!

Also, I'm kinda getting tired of begging for support... If you guys don't want your art up here, I guess that's gonna have to be okay. I will be posting my own art and anyone who wants theirs posted as well as some of my favorite pieces by famous manga artists. I'll post galleries of famous artists once every few weeks. Artist of the week for this week is: TITE KUBO! Yayz! (Now, see, if you guys had posted more stuff, you could've been artist of the week, but nuuuuuu.)

M'kay, that's all I got.

Art Gallery

Hello, my darlings! I have more lovely art for you! Two of these were graciously donated by some artists from the club, so please! Please! Post some comments and show these ladies the love they deserve. Alrighty, let's see what we have here...

This is Samantha T.'s impression of Sven, a Sweeper from the series Black Cat. Now, I've read Black Cat, and lemme say that this is a pretty good resemblance. The hair looks good, and that eye, if you full-view it, is awesome. I've seen Samantha's other stuff, and this is probably one of her best in terms of form and detail.

This is a drawing by Rita H. of her adorable character, Suzume, along with her pet bird, Zen. Let me tell you, I adore the hair on this child. As you'll see below, I tried to recreate that effect with only a little luck. Something can be said for colors like that done with mere colored pencils, and probably a meager set at that. Rita's color work may actually exceed the quality of her lineart in many cases. However, that face? Precious. I wanna adopt this kid. When I saw it, I pretty much gave Rita no choice in whether or not this made it to the blog--- I was taking it. End of story.
In return, Rita made a request of me. I had been working on one of my many fanfictions, this time focusing on Batman, and I'd been amassing a cast of new villains. Rita wanted me to take Suzume's design and create a villain based on it. The product is the piece seen below.

Ladies and gents, meet Swallowtail. Her real name is Sparrow White, as requested by Rita. That strapping gentleman in the background is another of my homemade super-baddies, Owl. He has a thing for her. I was kind of inspired by the zipper on Suzume's hoodie, so I played it up and covered the girl in zippers and belts. I also extended the hoodie for a more imposing trenchcoat look and made her older, giving her a figure. The hair sucks compared to what Rita did, but other than that, I thought it was a nifty design. It was well-recieved by the requestee.

This drawing is one of mine. I just like it. It's one of my better marker pieces, if ever you've seen my previous ones. These are two of my original Batman baddies specifically designed for the next-generation portion of the story. Perhaps I'll provide a link to the screenplay once it's internet-bound. These two are Casino and Enigma, respective to their locations. I call this little progect "Unmasked".
So, that's all I have for today, guys. C'mon, c'mon, people, don't you wanna see your own art on these pages and not someone elses? Geez, in the past however long since I've posted a gallery I've only gotten two things and have yet again had to fill space with my own art. I like my own stuff, I guess, but let's get real. This blog is for the club, not just me. Help me out, here, people.
